Choose between two licensed ceremony spaces. The mezzanine seats up to 120 guests, while larger ceremonies are held in the main room, so whatever the Yorkshire weather brings, your plans don’t have to change.
Our own kitchen and bar team take care of everything, with handcrafted canapés, memorable wedding breakfasts and the last round at the bar all under one roof.
Live music until 11pm, then a DJ until 1am on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Built for couples who want to dance the night away.
How the day flows
Every wedding is different, but a day at The Engine Shed tends to flow something like this. We will shape the timings around you.
The morning
Arrive to a venue set up just for you. With exclusive use, you have a quiet corner on the mezzanine to catch your breath before it all begins.
Early afternoon
Say your vows indoors in one of two licensed ceremony spaces: the mezzanine for up to 120 guests or the main room for bigger guest lists.
Afternoon
Fizz, canapés from our kitchen and room to mingle, with the mezzanine bar and dance floor keeping things going while the room is set for your wedding breakfast.
Late afternoon
Up to 180 guests around the tables for a meal cooked in house. Carvery, tapas, be the chef, whatever suits your day.
Evening
Evening guests arrive and the room holds up to 450. Two bars, two dance floors and the mezzanine looking down over all of it.
11pm
Live music plays until 11pm, then the DJ takes over until 1am on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and the late night bites come out once the dance floor is well underway.
Until 1am
This is why couples pick us. A late licence, a full dance floor and, if you fancy one, a sparkler send-off under the arches to finish.

A hydraulic stage and a proper dance floor, under one of the most impressive ceilings you will find at any wedding venue in Yorkshire. Ceremonies of more than 120 guests happen down here, and the room dresses up for an intimate wedding or scales into a full-blown party.

Up on the first floor with high ceilings, exposed beams and natural daylight, looking down over the main room. It has a bar and a dance floor of its own, so you can go straight from saying your vows to raising a glass without leaving the floor.
Food and drink
Everything is prepared in house by our own team, with no outside caterers. Handcrafted canapés, two-roast carveries, street food and globally inspired menus are all on offer, and dietary requirements are catered for without fuss. Choose the Traditional menu and you’ll be invited to a complimentary tasting evening before the big day. Our bar team will keep the drinks flowing throughout the celebration, and your food and drink packages can be tailored to suit you.
